Hello friends, welcome!
I’m Rachel, also known as Rae…..A mom to three awesome kiddos, wife to an amazing husband, dog mom to three little furry friends and a child of God searching for her place in this vast world.
God has been pruning my life for many years, and He has prompted my heart to share what He’s teaching me in this space. Be warned that this is not a polished and perfect place, this is messy and authentic, but at the same time beautiful. There is so much value in claiming our imperfections and allowing God to fill the void. I’m hoping this blog will encourage us to live life with more boldness while wholly embracing our faith journey.
In the midst of the painful trials, it can so often feel like God has abandoned us; like our life has slowed to a halt while we struggle to survive the here and now. Wrestling with faith and having to choose God daily or walk away, because it’s just too much. Seeing those around us win at life and rejoicing with them, but fighting the internal voices saying we are done and will never survive this. Desperate for anyone to step in and save us, because God seems to have forgotten us in our need.
This is where faith is born. This is where “forged in the fire” is lived out in all its painful beauty. And it’s beautiful, because someday you make it to the other side. And there we see that God never abandoned, but instead we see the blessing in the trial. We see that all along God was asking us to choose him daily, to need him. And there is clarity to the ways God walked with us: providing a kind word to keep us going, closing a door that was leading to no good, or meeting needs big and small. And we see that the way it turned out was good; we see that beautifully broken is a blessed existence. Because without a God who pursues us and stretches us, we are nothing. Beauty is found in the broken, and faith is fortified in the pain.
This is where we will live as a community of Sisters in Christ. Right there in the uncomfortable of God working and sanctifying our lives. If a community of women wholly devoted to Christ and committed to walking through the fire together is what you crave, this is the place for you. I will share what God is teaching me, we will encourage each other to look heavenward, and we will crawl through the messy of life together. Let’s link arms and show the world what women can do when they abandon it all for the God of the Universe.
Grab a warm cup of coffee and a cozy seat and settle in as we go dive into this crazy journey called faith. God isn’t done with us yet!
